Our society has changed from the early years. We now need to focus of immigrants with education and needed skills who can make a positive contribution to our country rather than just accepting all that want to come.
Most of the illegal immigrants come here with little skills and education. They distort the job market by lowering wages and taking jobs US citizens normally would have performed.
The low skill immigrants do not pay their fair share of the public provided education and medical services they consume.
The current system is leads to the exploitation of those here illegally.
We are seeing a lot of the current group of immigrants coming here only for economic reasons and not to become an American.
For America's future, it is imperative that immigrants assimilate into the American culture, language and to subscribe to American values of individualism and freedom. We must resume being a melting pot.
